Preparing the Snowball and Managing Cold Weather
Before attempting the puzzle, ensure Link is properly equipped to handle the freezing temperatures of the Gerudo Highlands. Wear cold-resistant armor or consume food cooked with spicy ingredients to prevent continuous damage. Gathering these supplies beforehand ensures uninterrupted focus while waiting for the precise moment.
Near the ruined cabin, you will find several small snowballs scattered on the ground. Pick up one of the snowballs and hold it in your hands to prepare for the shadow mechanism. If the snowball rolls away or melts, you can easily find replacements nearby or wait for them to respawn.
Casting the Shadow at the Correct Time
Walk over to the glowing pedestal located on the cliffside near the cabin ruins. The puzzle requires you to cast the shadow of a large snowball onto the center of the glowing wall target. Timing is crucial, as the shadow must align perfectly during a specific time window in the afternoon.
Stand between the sun and the wall target around 16:00 (4:00 PM) in the game clock. Lift the snowball over your head so that its shadow falls directly onto the center of the pedestal on the cliff. Once the shadow covers the central core, the pedestal turns green and the Suma Sahma Shrine rises from the ground.
Claiming the Rewards Inside Suma Sahma Shrine
Entering the Suma Sahma Shrine rewards Link immediately, as it is a Rauru's Blessing shrine that requires no further puzzle solving inside.
